This is just a very simple blog post on how I style Christmas jumpers. It is only this year that I started getting creative, trying to make a cute Christmas jumper outfit, that I can wear all December!
Two Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighter
I bought this highlighter back in June but haven’t used it until the end of September. BUT, it is so beautiful that I had to feature this on my September favourites even though I’ve been loving it for a few days! This highlighter is absolutely stunning and gives the cheeks such a beautiful brightened glow. I don’t know why I haven’t used it sooner! Two Faced products are all so beautifully packaged and I am just in love with the pink theme. It just looks so girly and elegant. When you open it, it has two different colours, a white and a subtle pink. Mix this both with the Real Techniques highlighting brush, and you get such a lovely glow. It is £25 but worth the price (for me anyway as highlighters last a very long time for me!)
I wanted to see what this show was about as it looked quite good from the trailer. I watched the first episode and I found it so cringeworthy! It is based around students at D&B performing arts school in Bromley about all the going-ons inside the school, such as girl drama, boy drama and everyone competing to audition to get a role in a certain part in a music band, a play or dance. The thing is, it is so bad but so good that I am hooked! I have been watching all the episodes so far. It airs weekdays on E4 at 19:30. The most ironic thing about it is that even though it is a reality show, it seems very much set up and the majority of the students cannot act or sing. In the middle and at the very end of each episode, one student breaks into a song, singing a current chart hit, performing in a music video. It’s so cringe and that’s the only word I can use to describe it – but for some reason, I just cannot stop watching it!
Cat Ear Headbands
I have been loving wearing cat ear headbands this month. They are so cute and goes perfectly with my style!
US Presidential Election Debate
US politics is rare for me to talk about but this election has got everyone interested because of one man – Donald Trump. I watched the debate versus Trump and Clinton and I found it very much amusing. Hilary seemed to keep her cool by laughing at whatever Trump said. I really loved the part when Hilary talked about Trump avoiding tax in his past and he replied by saying “At least I was smart about it.” It just made me laugh! I know what the world thinks about trump but you’ve got to give him credit for how much he has changed politics and has something else to offer. Half of the American people are gravitating towards him so he must be offering something that no other US presidents have. I think he actually has a chance to win. Today, especially in Britain, we have seen a dramatic change in politics within the last few months, so there is every chance Trump could be president. What other past presidential candidates caused as much debate as Trump has? It is certainly an exciting time but definitely a scary prospect. Covering the US election at work is also very interesting and I am learning a lot.
Now, politics over here is hardly uneventful these days. This month, we found out who has won the Labour leadership contest (for the second time) at their conference in Liverpool. It was Jeremy Corbyn v Owen Smith – and of course, with a massive majority, Corbyn has won it again, with even more votes than last year. Again, it is an exciting time, especially to be working in politics, because things have dramatically changed. With more than half of his MPs seem to disagree with him on a lot of things, who knows what is next for the party. Will they “unite” as they all keep saying or will the squabbles continue?
The Weeknd Ft. Daft Punk – Starboy
I have never been into The Weeknd, but I came across this song at the gym on Spotify and fell in love with it. Definitely a song to blast out in the car. Love it.
It’s okay if you didn’t get the grades you wanted or needed. You may feel like it is the end of the world but honestly, a few years down the line, you’ll be laughing at how upset it has got you. It really doesn’t matter, despite what society says. Whatever you want to do, you can get there one way or another. You don’t need straight A’s to make it to the top.
At school, I wasn’t really much of the academic sort. I hated school so much that I hardly ever listened in lessons (doesn’t mean you shouldn’t!). I was the daydreamer type, always in my own little bubble. I remember being so angry at myself because I wasn’t “clever” that I used to hide in the toilets at school and cry my eyes out. I didn’t match up to anyone in my year.
I never ever got an A* in my life – I just didn’t have it in me. Some people don’t and that’s okay. In fact, I was a C/D borderline student at GCSE level. I knew exactly what I wanted to do ever since I was little and in a way, that saved me because I had a goal and was determined to reach it. At school, I was just so consumed with my low self esteem and that did have an effect on how I did. I was a slow learner so things like Maths and Science never really got into my brain. I enjoyed creative arts subjects like Music, Drama and English.
I did do well in my GCSE’s in most subjects (only failed Maths) and did get the grades to do A-Levels but I decided from Year 9 that I don’t want to do A-Levels. I hate exams and most A-Level subjects are academic and theoretical. Again, I knew exactly what I wanted to do and knew how to get there so I didn’t mess around.
In Sixth Form, I did BTEC in Media Production. Yes, a BTEC. That doesn’t mean it’s any less than A-Levels and it doesn’t mean it’s for “dumb” people. BTEC is just as valuable as A-Levels. It’s vocational and I see it as a qualification for people who know exactly what they want to do. I didn’t see the point in doing academic courses for two years if I don’t think it would help me in the future. I would be wasting my time.
And yes, you can get into university with a BTEC – I did. I got 2:1 in my creative based degree and look where I am now – not to sound like I am boasting but I am a full trained journalist and I learnt more by going out into the world and working (which was part of my degree) than in school. Literally at the end of my degree, I cried my eyes out in happiness because I proved myself to people that you can get to the very top without amazing grades. If I can do it guys, so can you.
So if you received your A-Level or any other results last week and are getting your GCSE results next week, remember that whatever you got/get, it doesn’t define you or your future. You tried your best and that is all that matters. You don’t have to know what you want to do, but just don’t rely on your grades entirely. If you know what you want to do and didn’t get the grades to do it – trust me, there is always a way to get there – it may take you a different route and may take more time, but there is no rush. You will get there one day. All I can say from my experience is to try your best but don’t let your results define who you are.
Make Up For Ever HD Foundation
I have been using this foundation for about a month and I absolutely love it. It gives me such a flawless coverage and doesn’t make me look cakey one bit. Also, a little goes a long way, so you only need one or two pumps.
NARS Highlighter in ‘Miss Liberty’
I was just browsing through all the make-up counters and realised I don’t own many NARS products. I needed a new highlighter so I decided to check theirs out. I swatched ‘Miss Liberty’ on my hand and it had such a beautiful glow so I decided to buy it. I’ve been using this highlighter all month. I love it.
Benefit Goof Brow Pencil
So, Benefit have been promoting their new brow range since about early June. Again, I needed a new brow pencil so that was my excuse for buying one from their range! I decided to go for Benefit Goof Brow Pencil in number 3. I must say, it has to be the best eyebrow pencil I have ever used. Filling in my eyebrows wasn’t hardly my best skill but with this pencil, I can almost say my eyebrows have been “on fleek.”
I had a sample of this cleanser for a while but did not get round to using it until only recently and I must say, it does my skin wonders. However, I use it AFTER I do my normal cleansing and exfoliating. This is an oil based cleanser and very nourishing. Highly reccomend to those who are prone to the occasional spot.
Big Brother UK
The month of June and July I have been hooked, as usual, to Big Brother. It honestly has been so good this series. I loved Andy. I felt like he was very misunderstood in the beginning and kept on being up for eviction. In the end, he did get to the final and came 4th. Hughie was favourite to win but Jason won instead, which was a shocker. I’m glad he won because his time in there was ruined by Charlie and despite having a hard time in the house, and wanting to walk out numerous times, he ended up being in the final and the won!
Jackson was so annoying, especially when Georgina left. I liked Georgina at the beginning thinking she was the only normal person in the house, but since she got with Jackson, she became more angry and it came across as if she wanted to control Jackson, from his whereabouts to his clothes!
My highlight of the series was when Jason annihilated Lateysha. Oh my god, it was SUCH a shock (clip below). Since did that, he became enemy number one. He was very miserable and Ryan kept on having a go at him.

Ryan is probably my most hated housemate ever. The way he speaks, so loud, it is very annoying. The public liked Hughie quite a lot, but I just felt so annoyed by him. All he did was shout and start arguments with everyone one. However, I must say, he is probably the kink of tantrums. I call the male version of Nikki Grahame!
The dullest and the most boring housemate was definitely Alex. You couldn’t even tell he was in the house, he was that quiet and didn’t do as much. He definitely took Evelyn for a mug. My main favourites in the house was Jayne and Andy.
So, this series has now ended, but Big Brother doesn’t take a break. Celebrity Big Brother started last week and I literally don’t know most of them in there. If I get hooked onto this series of CBB, it could be in my August favourites…
I think it was around February or March time when I discovered Scream on Netflix. All of Season 1 was available, so because it was so good, I literally binged watched the whole season and finished it within four nights I think. For season 2 though I am up to date with it. It’s so frustrating waiting for the next episode for one week, just because it’s so addictive.
Without giving anything away, the series basically is situated in the town of Lakewood, where a string of murders take place by someone wearing a mask. Emma Duval, a teenage girl, is centred around this, who is somehow tied to the town’s past. It’s very spooky and when a murder happens, they waste no time in showing all the blood and gore (mainly by stabbing). Highly recommend to horror fans.
I’m never really the one to join the gaming bandwagon when it comes to a worldwide hype but for some unusual reason, I actually enjoy playing Pokemon Go. There’s something quite exciting about going out and hunting to catch a Pokemon, although I don’t do it on purpose. I usually catch Pokemon when I’m on my travels or simply just being in one place. Currently I’m on Level 6. I’m not obsessed, I just play when I can.
These are the songs I’ve been loving throughout July
